Bathroom Bliss: A Guide to Effortless Bathroom Organization

Hello lovely humans!

Bathrooms can get chaotic real fast. As a professional organizer, I'm here to share my top tips for maximizing space, minimizing clutter, and creating a serene sanctuary you'll love to spend time in.

Declutter First, Design Later

Before diving into any organization project, it's essential to declutter. Start by going through all your bathroom essentials and discarding anything expired, unused, or no longer needed. This includes old cosmetics, half-empty bottles, and expired medications. Only keep what you truly need and use regularly.

Invest in Smart Storage Solutions

Maximize your bathroom's storage potential with clever organizational tools. Consider installing shelves, over-the-door organizers, or drawer dividers to make the most of your space. Utilize vertical space for towels and baskets for toiletries to keep surfaces clear and clutter-free. In my bathroom I invested in clear drawer organizers to help create sections for my items. For containing all my cleaning supplies under the sink I found the best solution was a under the sink pull out drawers organizer. Extra supplies were corralled onto a clear turntable and a blow-dryer holder.

Group Similar Items Together

Organize your bathroom essentials by category to streamline your morning routine. Keep hair care products together, skincare items in one place, and toiletries neatly organized. This not only makes it easier to find what you need but also helps maintain order in the long run.

Label! Label!

Labels are your best friend when it comes to maintaining a well-organized bathroom. Use clear containers and label them accordingly to ensure everything has its place. This not only helps you stay organized but also makes it easier for family members or guests to find what they need.

Utilize Hidden Spaces

Don't overlook the potential of hidden storage spaces in your bathroom. Utilize the back of cabinet doors for hanging organizers, install a vanity with built-in drawers, or consider adding a storage tower or shower caddy in unused corners. Every inch of space counts when it comes to bathroom organization. Over the tank of your toilet is also a great place to store extra toilet paper using a toilet paper holder.

Keep It Clean and Tidy

Maintaining a clutter-free and clean bathroom is key to effective organization. Make it a habit to tidy up surfaces daily, wipe down countertops, and regularly clean out drawers and cabinets. I got this tip from Dana K White's book "How to manage your home without losing your mind' to use a sponge dish wand filled with Dawn soap to clean your tub or shower each time you shower. A few minutes of maintenance each day can save you hours of organizing in the long run.

Create a Relaxing Atmosphere

Finally, don't forget to add personal touches to make your bathroom a relaxing retreat. Invest in plush towels, soft mats, and decorative accents that bring joy to the space. A well-organized bathroom should not only be functional but also a place where you can unwind and recharge. In my bathroom space I added a soap dish that drains as well as being decorative. Cotton balls and q-tips can be found in clear pretty jars. Feminine products are hidden away in a discreet wooden box. Bulk liquid soap is displayed in amber glass soap dispenser with premade labels for bathrooms.

By following these expert tips, you can transform your bathroom into a beautifully organized space that promotes relaxation and rejuvenation. Remember, organization is an ongoing process, so don't be afraid to tweak your systems as needed to suit your lifestyle. With a little effort and creativity, you can achieve bathroom bliss that will make every day feel like a spa day.
